The past few years have seen New Delhi’s Mehrauli district evolve into a melting pot that houses countless ateliers and multi-brand stores established by Indian designers. Payal Singhal adds to the repertoire, as her eponymous label celebrates the launch of their second store in the country, which is housed in the area. The store is will be run in association with Carma, the multi-designer platform.
Delhi’s fashion set has shown much love and appreciation to the collections doled out by the designer over the years, and it comes as no surprise that she chose the capital as her next stopover. “We are very excited to give them an opportunity to shop the entire Payal Singhal product range under one roof,” says Singhal. Known for seamlessly bridging the gap between the aesthetics of modern day necessities and age-old traditions, this will be the designer’s second store in the country, the first being in Mumbai.
The interiors of the store have been designed keeping in mind the label’s appeal—classic, yet contemporary. An Art Deco theme accentuated with distressed mirror walls, soft gold tones and pink velvet furniture pieces will add to the space along with the designer’s signature ethnic wear looks. Since the end of the year is a stipulated season for Indian weddings, the store comes right in time for the bridal party shopping.
The brand’s future plans include another store in Mumbai by the end of next year, and revamping the brand’s e-commerce platform which will offer a wider range of product lines including accessories, kids wear and an upcoming menswear line.
